What SIFE Does : Business Ethics

Wilfrid Laurier University
WLU SIFE publishes a weekly ethics article in the campus newspaper. Students are invited to submit ethical dilemmas for the newspaper column, and SIFE students work with a university ethics professor to respond with possible solutions.

Malaysia
Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)
SIFE UiTM broadcasts the importance of sound business ethics by radio to 35,000 listeners in the local community. The radio spots were part of a week-long ethics program that also included an exhibition of global ethics issues, a public forum to discuss the topic, and an on-campus quiz competition on ethical practices.


New Zealand
Waikato Management School
High school students across New Zealand are challenged to assess the business ethics of various national companies in an ethics competition organized by SIFE Waikato. Pre and post-test results indicated a 50 percent increase in learning. The SIFE Team awarded Sustainable Enterprise and Ethics Awards and prize money to the two winning high schools.

United Kingdom
University of Newcastle upon Tyne
University of Newcastle upon Tyne SIFE worked with a local film company to encourage positive business ethics. The team interviewed prominent doctors, lawyers, and executives about the topic. The finished film was shown at a 2004 national British conference and offered to UK schools as a curriculum supplement.

Students In Free Enterprise is a group of students at northwest dedicated to increasing the entrepreneurial skills of the northwest campus community and the surrounding area by providing them with learning opportunities revolving around entrepreneurship, business ethics and personal financial development in the local and global economy.
